Torres.
Is to be offered around the premiership, quite a fall from grace for a player worth £50 million 4 years ago.

Is he worth a punt?

He will be playing in the championship for QPR next year

Re: Torres.
No thanks we have 4 very good strikers already so why upset the status quo with this non scoring striker.

Re: Torres.
He spent quite a lot of his last 18 months injured though, didn't he? (After playing 84 games in his first 2 seasons, which presumably did a lot of the damage)

I think definitely over-used by Liverpool over the course of his time there. Poor bastard got virtually no games off, so reliant on him they were.

He played 142 mathes in 4 seasons

Liverpool played a lot more than that!

Re: Torres.
Finishing is a confidence game and he's got an uncurable case of the yips, so that's a big no thanks from me.

Re: Torres.
You need to remember this bloke has been playing first team football since he was 16/17?

Captain of Athletico from 17 anyway.

I think he's just burnt out and decided he doesn't need it any more.

I"f he can get back to form that would be worth a punt for any club"

That's my thoughts, although he clearly needs some sort of Derren Brown mind hack to sort him out, he's mentally shot.

Re: Torres.
torres isn't on 60k a week, thats probably the amount milan are contributing to chelsea as a % of his wages.

Same old story, injuries have taken their toll.

Re: Torres.
Dunno- to be honest he's looked like an utter donkey since he left Liverpool. Don't know what happened to him. In the space of 2 years went from a world class striker to a bumbling idiot that couldn't trap a bag of cement.

Not sure it's worth us upsetting the apple cart of a decent group of strikers we have who are all playing well and getting decent game time for someone who could be shite.

This has Redknapp or Spurs written all over it.

Re: Torres.
We tried to get him on loan when we were in the Championship.

Its as if this guy has forgotten how to play football. He was lethal at Liverpool, probably the best striker in Europe at the time.

I can imagine QPR going for him.

Re: Torres.
I couldn't give a fuck if it was six grand a week. There's a reason Chelsea sent him to Milan and there's a reason Milan now want to send him back.

We certainly don't need him.

Rossal 1:10 Fri Dec 12
Re: Torres.
he must be on more then 60 bags a week as he is still on the same contract as the £50 mil deal

Return to Atletico is most likely IMO

Re: Torres.
he signed for 50m quid and 60k a week?

righto!!

Re: Torres.
His contract is £3.1m a year, 60 bags, not 160

Spandex Sidney 1:07 Fri Dec 12
Re: Torres.
BTW, he's on 60 bags a week so a two year contract is gonna cost you just over £6m plus signing on fee.

If he can get back to form that would be worth a punt for any club, especially when there is competition for places up front. He's only 30, remember the 2008 Euro final, I remember watching him there he was a fucking monster, completely unplayable.

Eggbert Nobacon 1:04 Fri Dec 12
Re: Torres.
so we can have him for nothing as long as we pay his 160k a week wages?

that straight away tells you we can't signing him even if we wanted to

Spandex Sidney 1:03 Fri Dec 12
Re: Torres.
BTW, Milan want to cancel the deal according to the rags

Spandex Sidney 1:02 Fri Dec 12
Re: Torres.
Yes, I heard this, basically he's free to a good home if you pick up his wages?

I can't see it happening but it is in the MO of Sam to do this kind of deal, a la Youri Djorkaeff & Okocha.

QPR, NAILED ON! I bet Harry is furiously wanking over this as we speak.

Re: Torres.
On a pay as you play basis @ 9.15ph perhaps.
